Hudson's first Birthday was a big deal for me. I fully realize he will not remember or care about this party. But I like having and throwing parties, so it was more for me. My mom told me a long time ago that the child's birthday should be more of a celebration for the mother than the child anyway. After all, the mom did all the work on the day we are celebrating. So back to my day.... it was Dr. Suess themed.
My friend, Roni, came with her little boy, Bode. They are destined to be best friends.
Uncle Sean gave Hudson his present and he loved them!
They were little animal figurines that Tanner and Sean always used to play with when they were little. We were so excited to find them in Blickenstaff's the other day.
Ryan's family all came. Grandma, Laurel, and Aimee
Eva just had back surgery last week and she even made it to the party!
Our friends from our ward, Veronica and Matt came. It's too bad I didn't get a better picture of them.
On Hudson's actual birthday he did so well eating his cupcake. On Saturday he was not having his cake. He screamed!
This was the dessert table. We had sugar cookies, cake batter muddy buddies, cake pops, cupcakes, an actual birthday cake and chocolate covered marshmallows. I might have gone a little overboard. The sign in the back says "Today you are you. That's truer than true. There is no one alive that is you-er than you! Happy birthday to you!"
He loved opening presents!
Matt and Kate gave him this Dr. Suess bag with some Dr Suess books in it! So Cute!
But then he hated when I would take the present away so he could open another one.
We had "Green Eggs and Ham" for lunch.
Mackenzie is modeling our cake pop boquets.
The guessing game was the only game we played. There were 444 swedish fish in the vase. My mom guessed 439 and my brother, Matt, guessed 437. Without talking to eachother about it! Crazy! I'm always way off on things like this. I guessed 167 (Ryan prepared and counted the fish)
Allen, Kim, and Aimee with their "Hudson" water.
Tanner and Kate
These are our party favors with buckeyes inside that my mom made.
It was a fun party and I still have lots of cake if anyone wants them!
His party was so great & you did an amazing job! Everything was so yummy & super cute.
