WEEKEND!!!

This weekend Matt and Kate brought Averi out to play and oh is she a doll baby! The Mel and
the Lyle also came for Averi's blessing. We didn't all get to spend tons of time together but we managed to fit in plenty of laughs, food, haircuts, and baby holding. Summer is here, my friends and I couldn't be happier because it involves all the things I love:
*my cutie Brooklyn

*lounging in the sun

*watching Matt attempt to kill himself
*seeing my little babies (no they are not another set of twins, just cousins that look freakishly alike at a quick glance)

*admiring how good I look in a wet suit (that was in a completely sarcastic voice, if only they invented something that could let you know what my voice sounds like as I'm saying it.....oh yea, they have, but I believe it's called a phone)
*seeing the Nana and my little cutie Camryn
* admiring how good my husband looks in a wet suit* having a wonderful dinner with my mom and her mommy and daddy
* oh and these people who have produced some of my favorite little people

My Little Girlies!

These are just a few pictures that I Love from our week with Camryn and Brooklyn. The top ones are how we spent our mothers day! We spent hours at the park on the swings, and I sat on the bench laughing my head off while the girls made Ryan sing every single Disney princess song they could think of over and over. And they were very quick to correct him if he sang the wrong words, he was a VERY good sport about it.(I actually think he really enjoyed it) The bottom left is our "Penguin Movie Night Party" we watched Happy Feet! And then the right is just a picture from the zoo.

A couple weekends ago I was able to go up to Idaho and spend some time with my aunts Patti, and Sue, my grandma, and my sister-in-law Steff. My aunt Patti and I had decided that after recent events some of the women in our lives deserved some much needed R&R in the form of a day at the spa! And it was wonderful!

During my massage, facial, mani, and pedi (jealous yet?), I kept thinking about the women in my life, and how lucky I am to have the strong role models that I have! I am surrounded by strong, beautiful mothers and wives! I have noticed the older I get the more I notice women's mothering techniques. Maybe it's because I worry I will never gain the patience that is needed, or I worry that I will lose a sense of who am, or that I will just not be a good mother, but I have become so increasingly in awe of my own mom, aunts, grandmothers, sister-in-laws, and cousins for their ability to not be defined by being mothers but empowered by it. Watching these women proves to me that you can have it all, and still be a great mother!

My mom has accomplished great things in her life. She worked to help her young husband through school, raised 5 children, and has currently sent 3 sons on missions, moved far away from her family where we were the only members of our church in the entire town that we lived in and had to drive an hour to church. She has been young women's president, relief society president, a supportive bishops wife, and is currently an early morning seminary teacher! She has never missed a soccer game, a volleyball game, a track meet, or an awards ceremony in over 25 years. She has slept on the floor of my hospital room, and saved my life when I choked on my own vomit. She has been a general contractor, landscape designer, tile layer, wall painter, gardener, and master chef. She has been in charge of proms, levys, bridal showers, baby showers, weddings, and 50th wedding anniversaries. She is now the proud nana to 4 grand daughters and on top of everything has about 5% body fat and looks HOT! More importantly she has 5 children who love and respect her, and a husband who adores her.

She ALWAYS has some kind of project going on and there is nothing she can not do. She is an incredible artist, teacher, decorator, soccer coach, trainer, baker, piano player, singer, speaker, and organizer. She is my best friend, and my biggest fan! Everything I do well is because I had a great teacher, and great support from that great teacher!

Happy Mothers Day! I had so much fun with you this week!

THE ZOO!!!

We went to the zoo on Friday, poor Ryan had to work, and he wasn't happy we went without him. When I was putting Brooklyn in her carseat she asked me where Ryan was and I told her he was at work her reply was " To make money?" and I said yes then she asked me if I had to go to work, and I said no. Then she said " Oh you don't make money? My daddy does make money, so he can buy clothes and diapers!"

Nobody told me I had polygamist hair that day so don't mind me.

Nana and Brooklyn with the penguins! This was Camryn and Brooklyn's favorite!

Camryn was so excited for the train!

They also LOVE Moose! And why wouldn't they, look how cute he is! I'm sure you will all be concerned and interested that Moosey had his little surgery yesterday and you will happy to know that all went well and he is up and running today! Such a temptation for all the jokes I could insert here with some of the wording above, but I like to avoid the look of disapproval from Nana!

For the Missing Parents!

Yester day Nic and Steff left to go to Hawaii and the Nana came to take care of them. We left to go up to Logan to our cousin, Jaxon's baptism. While we were getting ready to leave I started to put fish net panty hose and Brooklyn looked at me confused and said "you're wearing witches socks today?" Then when started to put my shoes on she had a smile and said " witches socks and cute shoes!"

Later last night Ryan joined us and we went to our favorite pizza place, Settebello's, you may remember me mentioning it before, and it looks like we have found two little girls who love it even more than we do! Then after telling me they didn't want any gelato, they ate all of my nutella gelato. I may have had a little, and it may have replaced my mint cookies and creme!

After the baptism Camryn asked " Do we get to get in the pool now?" She was a little disapointed, she perked up a little when I told her she just had to wait 5 more years!

They sure love Nana!
